When All Is Said And Done

In the quiet of the night,
under the soft glow of moonlight,
One truth remains, dark and unyielding,
in the inexorable passage of time.

“When all is said and done,” whispers the wind,
Through the leaves of the rustling and trembling trees,
There is no escape, it says, as it stirs the shadows.

The heart will keep searching for comfort,
In the fleeting warmth and gentle touch of love,
Yet sorrows are deep-rooted, they are ours to bear.
There is no balm that can soothe what is ethereal.
Within the web of our lives, there are threads that cannot be untangled.

So let us accept, then, with silent resignation,
to the afflictions we must face,
And find in them the strength to endure,
Under the vast and unforgiving sky.
For when all is said and done,
And the last moment has passed,

In acceptance, we may find a fragile peace,
That brings us a measure of calm and clarity.
