Where Shadows Dance And Fade

In the silence of my chamber, where shadows dance and fade,
I wander, lost in thought, a solitary soul astray.
My heart, a desert, arid and gray, devoid of life’s shade,
Longing to be rekindled, to be set aflame by love’s warm touch.

Oh, love, how you elude me, like a mirage on a distant shore,
A fleeting glimpse of beauty that I can never grasp once more.
Your whispers in my ear, a gentle breeze that stirs the embers of my soul,
A tantalizing promise that I dare not hope to make whole.

The stars above, a twinkling sea, mock my lonely fate,
As I pace the floor, a restless wanderer, searching for a mate.
My footsteps echo through the night, a lonely requiem’s sigh,
A lament for love that’s lost, and the longing that refuses to die.

In this desolate landscape, where only darkness reigns,
I yearn for your warmth, your loving gaze, your tender pains.
For in your eyes, my heart finds solace, a haven from the night,
A refuge from the solitary sea, where I’m lost without a light.

Oh, love, how I crave your presence, like a shipwrecked sailor adrift,
Seeking a beacon to guide me through the turbulent night’s shift.
To be reacquainted with the sweetness of your lips, the softness of your skin,
To be reawakened to the joys of love, and the ecstasy that we begin.

But alas, you’re gone, and I’m left here, alone and blue,
With only memories of you to haunt me through and through.
Yet still I hold on to hope, like a flickering flame,
That one day you’ll return to me, and our love will be reborn again.
