Message In A Bottle

This is an old poem.2008

I dropped a bottle at my feet
And then you picked it up for me
In it I put a message
And threw it far into the sea
Letting it flow just far enough
So that you would never see
I found myself in a room again
The same one I had visited before
I’ve been there so many times
I know what’s behind every door
But there it caught me unpredicted
For it took a little something from me
The death I had felt so long
The window that set me free.
But here I cannot see myself
And I’m looking back to see my fate
And I smile as it pulls me further
Into something that I hate
And I close that window again
The ice Melts into the heart
And do I surrender so easily
To whats tearing me apart
And it may never open again
So may I seal off this silent hell
I’ll take this one more time
Who were we in that madness called night
I’ll wrap your arm if you’ll wrap mine
Set them neatly under a set of watchful eyes
As you walk with me into this valley
A valley only reached by white rivers
Has the sun always been dying?
And still I know I’ll always deliver
As these streams creep to my heart
And I fall backwards
What did I get myself into?
We go hanging problems from every tree
And they swing so close to our mentality
Am I trapped inside this face
Of demons wings, angels lace?

2008

Poems with that much substance abuse verse are almost always 2014 and back. This paper has 2009 but I think I had two more copies before this and that was 2008. So yr after I graduated... angsty and teenagery as usual .. some may not see difference between now and then but I do... course I wrote short somehow then too... didn’t have to say it all or I said it really simple.. eh. Half the time idk what I’m even getting at .
