you told me to listen to.
I hate that you noticed
when I changed my hair.
I hate that you check up on me
right when I start to let you go.
I hate that I’m trying to get
over something that never happened.
I hate that I have to “move on”
and you have no idea that I was stuck.
I hate that I know you’re bored
and you know that I’ll respond.
I hate that it’s easier to latch onto something fake
than to ever believe I could find something real.
