emperor’s new clothes... nth time edition
not to embarrass the townspeople
in their heart of hearts the crowd
need to see the emperor’s new clothes
been anticipating the coming spectacle
the rumors of a smart gilded new clothes
the master work the weavers fashioned
in a remote camp gazebo for a parade
event
the new clothes a splendid rococo
will exude power subjects will bow
the seamstresses tell the emperor
from the grapevines the crowd keeps up
with the pretense
that the magnificent outfit exists... worn
by the emperor
waving smiling under a canvas canopy
held by four footmen the emperor parades
through the town sporting a smart
dazzling regal clothes
but lo! a child points out... screams...
“he is naked! not wearing any clothes!”
Merlin’s power broken he vanished from
the scene
the vanity of power gilded pretense
the dangers of sucking up to drunk
enablers
the like minded party members
nefarious denizens hogs wallowing
in bottomless pit of deceits of power
pathetically not bulletproof
a Socrates magical innocent know
nothing sweet child
outside the spell of adult insanity schemes
simply excited saw what he saw literally
the naked emperor parading before the
gaslighted townspeople
