My Shield, My Refuge, And My Rock
For the first time, I’m not afraid to let life guide me,
I believe God’s plan is for me to be.
And somehow, I know I’ll be strong when He’s by my side,
And his love will be my shield, my refuge, and my rock.
For the first time in my life, I won’t let grief hurt me,
Not like before, when I didn’t understand Jesus.
I’ve found comfort in his word and in his love that never fades,
And with him, I know I’m not alone, despite the many nuances of life.
For the first time, I have something I know won’t abandon me,
Something eternal and true, a love that will never escape.
And I’m no longer alone because Jesus is with me,
and in his presence, I’m free to be myself.
For once, I can say: this is mine, you can’t take it away,
As long as I know that Jesus is with me and guides me every day.
It’s up to me to live for Him, to serve and adore Him,
And with his love in my heart, I’ll never be bereft.
Time is fleeting, moments vanish like vapor in the wind,
With Jesus, every moment is important and every breath is planned.
I’m caught up in the current of life as it goes by,
I try to stay in the present, where He dwells.
With Jesus by my side, I’ll take the leap of faith,
I’ll follow His Ways and let my spirit soar to new heights.
I’ll trust in his guidance and endless love,
And I’ll know that with him, my path will never stray from the right or the left.
