Forget Regret

Please don’t dwell on your regrets
The heavy shackles of the past
Instead think of the happiness
Those memories will always last

We all remember our first kiss
The violent throbbing in our hearts
That first time you touched their lips
Recall that moment, all its parts

Or when you truly were in love
The comfort that it brought your soul
Uplifting whirls from up above
That perfect time when you were whole

Now search your memory for the time
When you could feel the suns warm rays
Upon your face, a warmth sublime
Breathe in now those glorious days

Remember friends, the ones you knew
More deeply than you knew yourself
Both in life your persons grew
Pictures placed on your mind’s shelf

Recall these times when you feel hate
The rage regretful shadows bring
For regret is just a state
Where voice is not allowed to sing
