Free verse with a little bit of rhyming. My twist.
Some things happen to fast,
Sometimes you have to slow down to catch a nice view,
Life moves by fast with technology and love,
You have to catch it before it passes you.
Love is a feeling,
Supposedly family last forever,
Supposedly their the closest thing to your heart,
Then they misuse you,
They leave you stranded in the dark.
You think how literature is where present meets the past,
The present is where you meet the future,
The family you had in your life is gone,
But why,
Is what your not sure.
Struggles are what define us,
Riches take us to the top,
Being poor with no love around us,
Is frankly,
What you got.
You sit on the tracks,
Taking in the country view,
You watch the deer graze in the field,
You think,
You relate to you.
Your mind jumps around,
To fast to catch your thoughts,
The sun goes down,
Your still thinking,
Wondering why,
Trying to give life meaning.
When you’re all alone,
You question everything around you,
Why did this happen,
But why did that,
Don’t worry yourself,
You have good grades little soldier,
Grab seat and relax,
Let the thoughts rest on your shoulder,
Follow your heart,
Capture the moment,
You only have one life,
You can’t let others,
Tell you that you don’t want it.
