View from an Overpass

To the friend who could not take anymore. 2005-2006.

:VERSE 1:
Skyscraper light up the night
So I guess you had a view
Why didn’t you give off some sort of light?
Or did you know no one was On your side?

:CHORUS 1:
To take you higher where you could finally breath
You’re a liar for saying you could never bleed.
You always lost what you found
And flying down I bet you never made a sound.

:VERSE 2:
No reflection looking over the edge
No headlights to light up your eyes
I’d pour water beneath that bridge
But who wants to swim, when you can fly?

:CHORUS 2:
But you were higher than I could ever wish to be
And you were tired of thing they would never see
If I’d have known you’d fallen so far down.
Well I’d have followed you straight into the ground.

:BRIDGE:
Did you finally feel the wind on your face?
Lose the lines that you tried so hard to trace?
No one could ever say you didn’t try.
But why couldnt you even tell me goodbye?

A song actually. One of my earliest. Typical and angst ridden. Not entirely a true story just a death by suicide just not in that manner. So emo. Everytime I come back to read it I’m like good grief. I was 15 though..
