Cake Revolution

The end of absolution

from behind I hear their hunters bark
So well they knew my scent
And I fled under the moon and into the dark
And I left suicidal, careless hints
For my feet were growing old and dead
At last, find me, in the corners, they said
No hand to call my innocence
So in late hours distorted since
With a sword to bleed me til blood is gone
And they no one to hang when come the dawn
A fugitive today and put to death
while a country calls treason on itself
Was A patriot yesterday
And in exile tomorrow
A criminal amongst the most dangerous
For they with word and idea are dangerously armed
a hero yesterday morning to remind that kin warned remain unharmed
In a nation of civil strife
Those behind the monarch who
forcibly “abdicates”
Tomorrow is a blood line hunted down to eradicate.
A proud traitor.
Exiled by blood and steel.
A scar through a nation to be hideously healed.

This is even older.. French Revolution.. I kept its funny name from the myth of “let them eat cake” lol .this was a set in the reign of terror.... Not sure it all makes sense but I was young.
